the doc says “ok, you’re ready to get back into whatever it was that you do to keep in shape…running, exercise, or …” and since there isn’t yet snow on the ground, it would most likely be mountain biking.
after so much sitting around letting the shoulder treat me like a wife of 40 years, i decided to take the doc up on his word and get back out there. get active. i dug up a pretty cool website with local trails listed, chose a couple and headed out for some much needed exercise amongst mother nature.
first track i hit was across town a ways to Wright’s Hill Reserve. never rode there and the website said it was an “intermediate” ride – which, i suppose, it was. i’m no pro on a bike, not like on a snowboard, quite the opposite actually…but i’m willing to learn…so off i went.
it was ALL downhill till i reached the end. then, it was all uphill. not too hard either i might add. stopped a few times to chill and to take in the bush surroundings. i also let the TUI birds sing to me. i swear, if you’ve never heard a TUI doing it’s thing, you are sorely missing out. as far as birds go, it is one of the cooler sounding birds i’ve ever had the pleasure of allowing to tickle my eardrums. i busted out the camera to nab a small sample before the wind picked up. mountain-bike-tui-audio
days later i hit up a track here in miramar that i could ride to from the house. that too was a fun little ride.
